CIMB Classic
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This is an interesting segment in the 2014-2015 PGA Tour season.  The Tour is an international entity, and this leg branches out to Malaysia for the CIMB Classic.  Due to the location, some Tour players choose not to participate in this event, but still the field had some very well known players like Sergio Garcia, Ryan Moore, Gary Woodland, Lee Westwood, 2014 FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel, and K.J. Choi.

This tournament was significant in that one other big name not mentioned above made his return to golf.  That big name is Jason Dufner, who had been out due to injury since the PGA Championship.  Dufner finished the event at 6-under par, tied for 26th place.

The 2013 CIMB Classic winner Ryan Moore started his 2014-2015 campaign at the 2014 CIMB Classic.  There must be something about this event for Moore, who carded rounds of 68-69-67-67 to claim the victory once again, defending his title.  The last player to defend a title on tour was Tiger Woods in 2013.

More beat out fellow American and big hitter Gary Woodland by three shots.   Woodland was tied for second place at -14 with Kevin Na and Sergio Garcia.

European Tour
BMW Masters
Shanghai, China

The biggest story at the BMW Masters in Shanghai, China was not the winner, German Golfer Marcel Siem.  Siem dramatically chipped in for the win during a three-player playoff over Alexander Levy and Ross Fisher.

Golf’s “Most Interesting Man” Miguel Angel Jimenez had some interesting troubles.  On the ninth hole Jimenez hit four shots into a water hazard and would eventually card a 13 on that hole.  He would end up shooting a total of 88 for the round, finishing in second-to-last place.  No doubt, there has never been a more interesting 13 scored on the European Tour.

LPGA Taiwan Championship
Miramar
Taipei, Taiwan

The week prior to the LPGA Taiwan Championship Inbee Park snatched the world #1 ranking from Stacy Lewis.

When the final putt was holed, Park also snatched the LPGA Taiwan Championship trophy and winner’s check from Lewis, who finished four shots back.

Park’s final score was an impressive 22-under par.
