Spring Golf Tips for the 2019 Golf Season
Rejoice! Golf season is upon us! The days are getting warmer, the grass is turning green, and The Masters is less than 2 weeks away. Mud Balls:
You hear it all the time when you watch an early season PGA Tour event. A player will hit a shot and then exclaim “Mud ball!” pretty much as soon as they make contact. Mud balls are just pieces of mud stuck to your golf ball. They could be visible, or they could be lingering out of sight. If you’re not playing “lift, clean, and place,” mud balls are a pretty regular occurrence in the spring season. There’s not much you can do to prevent them from happening, but there is something you can do to hit better shots should this happen to you. The best way to combat a mud ball, is to make sure your club face is as clean as possible. The cleaner you can get your club face at contact, the better chance that the mud will fly right off and still allow you to get the most amount of spin on your shot.
