Golf Games: Scramble
It dawned on this frog last Friday that though we've described all sorts of variations of golf's "scramble" format, we haven't covered the original! Here she comes.
Scramble
Scrambles are the most popular non individual stroke play tournament format. The nice thing about scrambles is that they can be fun for inexperienced players or players who simply not very good. Many company or corporate events and charities choose the scramble format because it is fun and low pressure.
Scrambles are played with teams of 2-4 players. Each player hits their tee shot as normal. The team then selects the team's best shot and they all play from that position. The process is repeated through the entire hole, including putting, until the first ball is holed.
