If you are in a tournament or a group of players and you hear that there is a Honey Pot, this is what it is all about.
A Honey Pot is an optional bet where players put in a certain amount of money, like $25, in addition to any tournament fees or league entry fees. The players who enter the honey pot are then obviously eligible to win money from the pot.
The pot is usually split into three places, but can be split into as few or as many as the group or committee decides on. At the end of the round the pot is typically split as follows:
1st place: 50% of the Honey Pot
2nd place: 30% of the Honey Pot
3rd place: 20% of the Honey Pot
For example, say 20 players enter the honey pot at $25 each. 20x25=500, so there is a total of $500 in the pot.
1st place: $250
2nd place: $150
3rd place: $100
Winning the Honey Pot is oh sooooo sweet!
