Tournament Format: Pinehurst Format

Pineurst in an interesting, and slightly difficult tournament format for teams of two players.  The tournament format combines elements of of the scramble format as well as the alternate shot format.  Here's how it goes Both players tee off.  For the 2nd shot the players switch balls.  So player A would then hit player B's ball for the 2nd shot while player B would hit player A's ball for the 2nd shot. For the 3rd shot, the best of the two 2nd shots is chosen.  From that point on the two players will then play alternate shot format until the ball is holed. Yes, you may need to read this post a few times to get the format.  Here it is in short: Shot 1: Both players tee off as normal Shot 2: Players alternate, playing the other player's ball Shot 3 to hole completion: Players pick best 2nd shot and play it in alternate shot format until the ball is holed out.
