Greetings on this fine Tuesday, following Memorial Day weekend. However you spent your Memorial Day, we hope you had a good one. Tuesday Tips will return next week. Because of the holiday, Weekend Wrap is a Tuesday edition.

"It is one of the greatest things to win in this game, so I cannot imagine more. I can't believe that I am the champion," said Kohki Idoki following the final round of the 2013 Senior PGA Championship. Idoki had made an improbable comeback from five shots behind Kenny Perry. Not only did he erase the five shot deficit, he finished with room to spare in the form of two strokes.
Perry felt shell shocked. In trouble most of the day, Perry had a three shot lead with six holes to play. Instead a crucially mistimed double bogey sunk his hopes for a major championship, dropping him to a tie for 2nd with Jay Haas.

"Boooooo." When is the last time you heard a PGA Tour crowd "boo" the winner? Try this past weekend. Boo Weekly resurrected his game and put himself in the leading position for PGA Tour Comeback Player of the Year by winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational and the plaid jacket which the tournament gives to the winner, similar to the Masters green jacket. I get the feeling Weekly will like the winners check for over $1.1 million better than the jacket.
"Drive for show, putt for dough." We've all heard that golf quote. This week's performance by Boo Weekly was prime example of just that. Weekly led the field in distance of total putts made as well as proximity to the hole in regulation. Those two stats add up to a win for weekly, whose golf career was on life support.
Not anymore. We'll be seeing Weekly regularly, even weekly for the at least the next couple of years.

One word to describe the LPGA Tour's week last week? Rain. The tournament had so much rain that they decided to shorten the event to three 12-hole rounds. The 12 hole jokes on the social networks were entertaining, like "the tournament doesn't begin until the back six..."
The weather wasn't a joke for tournament officials or players however.
Ilhee Lee took advantage of the shortened tournament, shooting a final round "five under 42" on the 12 hole layout for a two shot victory, her first on the LPGA Tour.
