Golf Tips: Relieving Tension for Better Swings

Tension is one of the worst things a golfer can deal with in the golf swing. It is nearly impossible to pull off consistently good golf shots when we are tense. In fact, we will lose a considerable amount of power and accuracy.
Shake It
There are many ways to relieve tension before the golf swing. One could take a deep breath or two. Perhaps close the eyes and perform some kind of self-zen ritual.
One of the best ways to reduce stress is to shake it off. Think of Fred Couples. Before each shot Freddy shakes his shoulders. You can almost see the stress rolling off his shoulders and moving to the ground where it is dissipated.
Other items you could shake might be your head, hands, arms, legs or even buttocks. That being said, you may not want to go into a full “twist and shout” on the first tee. But if it will shave strokes off of your score why not?
