Golf Games: Trouble
Trouble (also known as "disaster") is a fun point game which focuses a little less on score. Points are collected by getting into trouble (see table below), with the winner of the game being the player who has the least amount of trouble points at the end of the round. Each point can be set to a certain bet amount, like $1.00 per point. A great byproduct of playing trouble, is that it gets the players to focus on staying away from trouble on the course like water hazards, bunkers, OB etc.
Trouble Points
Out of bounds: -1
Sand trap: -1
Water or lateral hazard: -1
Failing to get out of a bunker: -2*
Bunker-bunker (leaving one bunker and going into another): -2
Three putt: -1
Four putt: -2
Whiffed ball: -4
*Add two more penalty shots each time (disaster!).
Other trouble items like hitting trees may be added.
All trouble points on a hole can be erased if the player manages to finish the hole with a par or better.
At the end of the round, all players count up their trouble points and settle up.
