Golf Games: Gruesome

A few posts back I wrote about the fun Texas Toast format, where the worst of two one-man-scramble style tee shots is played.  There's a two man team format with a similar flavor to Texas Toast called Gruesome. Gruesome The Gruesome format is played by two man teams.  Each of the two team players tees off on each hole, and the team's opponents choose which of their tee shots the team must play to finish the hole.  Obviously the chosen tee shot will be the worst of the two. Gruesome can be a fun and pressure packed format.  Imagine if your playing partner hits a perfect drive down the fairway and you have yet to play.  There are hazards everywhere and even out of bounds.  The pressure is on to hit a 2nd good drive, leaving your opponents no choice but to pick what is still a good shot.
