This one is a cool sounding game that even I haven't tried yet.  This could be real fun for large or small groups, and even team vs team.

The Train

The Train awards good play and severely penalizes bad play.  Points are awarded for the following in the good play category:

Par: 1 point
Birdie: 2 points
Eagle: 5 points

The object of the game is to obviously accumulate the most points, just like the Stableford Scoring we discussed a few posts ago.  But there's a difference.  Points are completely wiped out if the player scores two bogeys in a row or one double bogey.

The Train can be fun for individual vs individual, but also fun as a team game.  Let's say your group has 12 players, or three groups of four.  All four players in each group can comprise one team, and all Train points combined for a team score.
