I played in a fun golf threesome a few days ago. On the first tee the other two players asked if we all wanted to play the six hole game, where each player switches partners every six holes. We covered this basic golf game of trading partners clear back on February 18, 2011.
A cool variation these guys implemented in the six hole game since we had three players and one player would have an imaginary "pro" like Tiger or Arnie as a partner is to pick a bogey hole for the pro. This would be a hole that you, as the player who has the imaginary pro at the time, feel like you wouldn't need the pro's "help." This hole must be declared at the beginning of each six hole stretch, not during the course of play on a particular hole.
In the game we played a few days ago, all three players picked a good hole to give their imaginary pro a bogey. They were all par-5's in which the player did manage to not need the pro's help.
