PGA Tour

The PGA Tour returns to Texas this week for the Byron Nelson Championship.  I had the pleasure of attending this event for all four days last year and it was a blast.  Keegan Bradley recorded his first Tour win at this event last year with one of the highest winning scores of the year at -3.  The winds were tough.

Field

Bradley looks to defend against a field which includes some big names, including recently inducted Golf Hall of Fame member Phil Mickelson.  Phil hasn't played this event since 2007.  Another hall of fame player in the field will be Vijay Singh.

Other players to watch this week include Padraig Harrington, Jason Day, Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar.  Keep a close eye on Ryan Palmer, who entered the playoff in this tournament last year.

Course

The course is tough at this event. The TPC Four Seasons, despite being a par-70, is a beast with a yardage of 7,166.   The Texas winds can combine with brutal heat to make low scoring very tough.  As mentioned, the low score last year was -3.

LPGA Tour

Its match play time for the LPGA Tour.  This week the LPGA is contesting the Sybase Match Play Championship.  The venue for this week's match play is Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey.

Last year's returning champion is Suzann Pettersen.

Champions Tour

The Champions Tour is off until May 24.

Nationwide Tour

he Nationwide Tour is playing the BMW Charity Pro-Am at Thornblade Club in Greer, South Carolina.
