  • Final Wednesday of 2010

In four days 2011 will be here.  2010 is quietly winding down, for most.  Here are a couple of noteworthy and entertaining news items from the last Wednesday of this year.

    PGA Tour In 3D

Next week the 2011 PGA Tour season starts.  Boy am I excited for a new year of golf and to see what happens with all the new young guns trying to dethrone the likes of Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker.

In week two of the new season, the TV broadcast will be in 3D.  This frog is apparently too low tech with the 42" plasma and five speaker surround on the lily pad, so I won't be able to watch in 3D.  I wonder how the broadcast will be different.

Friends try to snub co-lottery winner

Down in The Villages, north of Orlando Florida there's a funny story brewing.  Some workers and club members at a golf course down there who usually chip in on lottery tickets actually won.  They tried to sneak that by their "friend" who usually chips in 1/8 of the cost on the lottery tickets who missed out that day.  Now a court battle is about to begin to see just who gets what cut of the $16 MILLION bucks.

Apparently money can turn "America's friendliest retirement community" into something not-so friendly.

    Does Obama have a BrushPro?

President Obama is on vacation for the holidays and today he picked up the sticks for a round at Mid Pacific Country Club in KAILUA, Hawaii.  No word on whether the pres has a BrushPro on the bag or what he shot, but local pro Mark Sousa said, "his swing looks a lot better this year."

Obama's swing should look better.  According to varying media outlets Obama has played somewhere between 41 and 52 rounds of golf since moving into the Oval Office!
