Welcome to Monday #1 at the new Frogger Blogger. No specific subject is on the menu for a typical Monday. I've reserved it as a day to cover any subjects which may have popped up over the last week and over the weekend. Such subjects will likely be any news on the professional tours, news about players or general golf industry happenings. Call it a Monday Buffet.
PGA Tour
This past week on the PGA Tour brought a few news worthy items, though the Tour is not currently playing and won't officially be until the first week of January.
Sean O'Hair has gotten that golden letter of invitation to play in the 2011 Masters through his world ranking.
Camilo Villegas' caddy Brett Waldman has made the decision to play on the Nationwide Tour next season, rather than caddying for one of the world's best players. Will that choice pay off?
Graeme McDowell, Yani Tsent and Berhard Langer were named the 2010 Players of the Year by Golf Writers Association of America.
Stewart Appleby was named the PGA Tour comeback Player of the Year. Watch out for him in week #1 of the 2011 season, as he always plays well in the first tourney in Hawaii.
John Daly won a legal battle against his fourth ex-wife and now has custody of his seven year old son. The ex-wife was sentenced to jail for contempt of court and interfering with Daly's visitation.
European Tour
Ernie Els won his fifth South African Open by beating the surging Retief Goosen by one shot. Strangely, the final round of the tournament was played on only 17 holes, as one hole was so soaked with water that they skipped it.
Ryder Cup
Though not official, rumors are flying around that Davis Love III will be the next USA Ryder Cup Captain. Official announcement will be in 2011.
Champions Tour
Most of the Champions Tour schedule for 2011 is confirmed. As a convenience, we've set up a page you can refer to right here for the Champions Tour schedule.
Nationwide Tour
As another convenience, we also have the 2011 Nationwide Tour schedule posted on a page here. Follow the future stars of the PGA Tour!
